Overview

To bring the human impact of this issue to life, I transformed a firsthand account into an interactive AR narrative experience. This immersive storytelling approach was designed to deepen empathy and engagement during the bystander intervention workshop.

Goal

The Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center’s (HCWC) wanted an engaging workshop with the San Marcos Youth Task Force. Teenagers will learn about bystander intervention through interactive stories that mix digital and real-world activities. Using augmented reality (AR) and Halloween theme, young players will explore different situations, make choices, and talk about what it means to step in and help others safely.

Constraits

My prompt given by one teenager from HWCW: You and your friends get dressed up and go out on a Friday night. While all of you are walking to a restaurant, a stranger calls out to your friend saying “You’re too hot to go home alone tonight.”

HWCW wanted the experience to not be too scary for the teenagers, keep it light and educational.
